EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR ENGAGEMENT OF EXTERNAL AUDITORS

Established in 1915, Helen Keller International works to save the sight and lives · of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged persons. We combat the cause and consequences of blindness and malnutrition by establishing programs based on evidence and research in vision, health and nutrition.  With its head office in New York City, Helen Keller conducts programs in 22 countries in Africa and Asia as well as in the United States. In Nigeria, Helen Keller has been supporting the national Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) and Nutrition programs in the following states: Adamawa, Bauchi, Benue, Borno, Ebonyi, Katsina, Kebbi, Nasarawa, Sokoto, Ekiti, Akwa Ibom and Taraba.

SCOPE OF WORK

The purpose of this advert is to solicit competitive proposals from recognised accounting firms to serve as External Auditors that will replace the outgoing External Auditors which has completed the maximum period of engagement.

The scope of this engagement shall be in line with the Nigerian Standards on Auditing and or International Auditing Standard (as may be applicable).

GENERAL REQUIREMENT

Interested and competent firms wishing to provide the above service to Helen Keller International must submit an application with the underlisted documents not later than the close of business on August 15, 2022:

• Evidence of the Firm’s registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
• The Firm’s profile, including professional qualifications of the key staff, past experience with respect to similar jobs which have been successfully handled, etc.
• Evidence of VAT registration and valid tax clearance certificates.
• Evidence of PAYE remittances for the staff of the audit firm.
• Evidence of compliance with the provisions of the Pension Reform Act of 2004.
• Evidence of partners’ membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and any other relevant professional bodies.
• List of clients.

Only qualified and selected firms will be required to submit both the technical and financial proposals in a later date.

Application Procedure:

Expression of interest should be signed by authorised representatives of the firms and submitted to Nigeria-Procurement@hki.org before close of business on Monday, August 15, 2022.
