PROCUREMENT OF WORKS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF FARMERS MANAGEMENT AND SERVICE DELIVERY CENTERS IN BAKOLORI, KANO, HADEJIA VALLEY AND MIDDLE RIMA VALLEY IRRIGATION SCHEMES IN ZAMFARA, KANO, JIGAWA AND SOKOTO STATES, NIGERIA

1.This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for the Transforming Irrigation Management in Nigeria (TRIMING) Project that appeared in Development Business dated February 5, 2015.

2.The Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) has received a financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Transforming Irrigation Management in Nigeria (TRIMING) Project and it intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for the Procurement of Works for Construction of Farmers Management and Service Delivery Centers in Bakolori, Kano, Hadejia Valley and Middle Rima Valley Irrigation Schemes in Zamfara, Kano, Jigawa and Sokoto States, Nigeria

3. The Federal Ministry of Water Resources (FMWR) through the Project Management Unit (PMU) of the Transforming Irrigation Management in Nigeria (TRIMING) Project now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for Procurement of Works for Construction of Farmers Management and Service Delivery Center in Bakolori, Kano, Hadejia Valley and Middle Rima Valley Irrigation Schemes in Zamfara, Kano, Jigawa and Sokoto States, Nigeria in four (4) lots.

4.SCOPE AND LOCATION OF THE WORKS
The scope is for the “Construction of Farmers Management and Service Delivery Centers (FMCs) in four (4) irrigation schemes – (i) Bakolori Irrigation Scheme, Zamfara State (2) Kano River Irrigation Scheme, Kano State (3) Hadejia Valley Irrigation Scheme, Jigawa State and (4) Middle Rima Valley Irrigation Scheme, Sokoto State”. The Proposed Contract completion period for each of the lot is nine (9) months.

5. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE SCOPE OF THE CONTRACT WORK
The major components of the works in the construction of the FMCs include:
(a) Administrative building; Warehouse; Input Store; Workshop Building; Tomato Pack House; Canteen; External Toilet; Gate House; Perimeter Fence; External works     and
(b) Implementation of social & environmental requirements; in addition to submitting corresponding budget required to implement each mitigation or enhancement measures aimed at adhering to these social and environmental requirements within the allowed Provision Sum. This requirement will serve as the Contractors Environmental and Social Management Plan (CESMP).
